Mineral Rich Spring Water

All Girzi Beauty Care Products are formulated with thermal mineral-rich spring water.

In the Dolomite Mountains, sixty miles northeast of Milan, the Darfo Boario Terme has for thousands of years attracted inhabitants who recognized the unique therapeutic qualities of its hot mineral springs.

Today, the Darfo Boario Terme Spa is the central focus of the region. The Spa is one of oldest and most accredited thermal spas in the world. Girzi Italia was established close by and was inspired by the Spa and the therapeutic waters.

The ancient hot springs of Boario Terme originate deep below the surface of the Earth. The waters accumulate their mineral content as they circulate and filter through the rock bed aquifers. These hot spring waters circulate underground collecting minerals and trace elements for approximately ten years before they sprout to the surface.

From as early as the Roman times, people recognized the healing attributes of these waters. Scientists have been so intrigued that research on the area's mineral spring waters began in the 1700's and continues to this day. There are four different mineral springs that feed the Darfo Boario Terme Spa and each has a unique combination of distinctive minerals, organic salts and trace elements that deliver profound therapeutic benefits to the body and skin:

Antica Fonte: The oldest and deepest of the springs. It is rich in minerals, calcium, sulphate, magnesium and other essential trace elements. Girzi uses the waters from this spring in all of its beauty care products.

The other three springs at Boario Terme are:
Fonte Silia: Rich in calcium, minerals and trace elements
Fonte Igea: Moderate levels of minerals and trace elements
Fonte Fausta: Moderate levels of minerals and trace elements

Girzi is the only skincare company in the world that has the exclusive right to procure a clinically researched peat from Lake Massaciuccoli. Located one mile from the Mediterranean Sea, this 30,000 year old lake was once open to the sea as a lagoon. Later the sea receded and it became closed off to form the lake. The lake grew in size as it became a flood plain and was fed by underground springs which surface from the banks of the surrounding hills. These springs guaranteed the constant flux of water towards the sea allowing the optimal conditions for the formation of peat banks.
Peat is created when lush organic (living) matter-herbs, grasses, and flowering plants, are buried and mixed, gently, then layer 30 feet deep. These layers have been subject to subtle yet compelling biochemical changes over thousands of years, transforming the mixture into a rich, botanical substance. The result of nature's action is a peat with unique and special purifying, mineralizing and moisturizing properties. This peat is so distinctive that it has undergone extensive clinical testing at the University of Pisa to further evaluate its beneficial effects on several skin conditions such as acne and psoriasis. Now this incredible product is coming to the consumer market in Girzi face and body care products.

I love this hydro-lifting serum, it makes my skin feel hydrated and bay smooth!!!! I tried a sample and had to have some more- I use it everyday and it makes it feel tight and toned, but it does not make the skin feel dry. I love it and the scent is fabulous!!!!
